Benvingudes i gràcies. Kontrast #4!

El circ té la seva raó d’existir unint acrobàcia, dansa, teatre, música, màgia i rentaplats. Aquestes disciplines, articulacions d’un únic cos – el de l’art – apareixen juntes i unides en un festival experimental que dóna el tret de sortida a la temporada cultural de Konvent 2024.

Visionari i provocador, immediat i profund, barroc o minimalista, el circ contemporani en les diferents declinacions torna en escena a Cal Rosal (Berguedà): la companyia My!Laika i el projecte Konvent Cirk presentem la quarta edició del nostre festival experimental Kontrast que portarà també aquest any a més de 30 propostes artístiques del 12 al 21 d'abril al Konvent, a la carpa Side Kunst Cirque, a Gironella (com a novetat d’aquest any), i totes les rodalies.

El fenomen del circ contemporani reuneix artistes que dibuixen un gran calidoscopi de maneres, determinant corrents interns com en un moviment real, amb característiques estilístiques inconfusibles i una vitalitat única al món de la biologia molecular.

Kontrast, pres de l’italià contrasto “contrast”, del llatí contra “contra” i stare “quedar-se”, o sigui, “quedar-se contra” és un concepte constant que acompanya les dues realitats (una que porta un teatre independent en gira per Europa, la carpa de circ Side Kunst-Cirque i l’altre que promou arts en una antiga colònia tèxtil recuperada des de fa més de 20 anys.

El col·lectiu organitzador continua amb tenacitat de seguir pel camí de l'inusual i de l'experimentació, proposant espectacles especials, esdeveniments musicals, continental breakfast i exposicions d'art plàstica en un clima de festa que voldria simplement lluitar contra l'avorriment primaveral i els objectius omesos del hivern interior comú.

Artistes de tot el món arriben a Cal Rosal des dels seus països, amb les seves llengües, cultures i art fent de Kontrast un festival internacional. És evident, però, que encara no heu trobat la nacionalitat de les companyies dins el programa de Kontrast. Els passaports no són un assumpte del nostre circ i mai no ho seran. Podeu descobrir el camí de cada artista trobant-vos després del seu espectacle i compartint-hi moments fora de l'escena: artistes i públic intercanvien opinions, històries, idees. El model corrent de fruïció en pantalles troba els límits de l'absurd en el cas del circ. Kontrast és un festival on les proeses es poden tocar amb les mans.

Kontrast és un aquari on neden peixos estranys, misteriosos, perillosos... principalment inconcebibles. Podeu observar-los en els seus moviments sinuosos i bojos, però no hi ha vidre per protegir-se: us haureu de submergir junts amb els artistes dins els esplèndids abismes del Kontrast.

Més enllà de tota bogeria actual, una altra vegada l'art, una altra vegada el circ.

The circus has its reason to exist by uniting acrobatics, dance, theater, music, magic and dishwashing. These disciplines, articulations of a single body - that of art - appear together and united in an experimental festival that kicks off the cultural season of Konvent 2024.

Visionary and provocative, immediate and profound, baroque or minimalist, the contemporary circus in different declinations returns on stage at Cal Rosal (Berguedà): the company My!Laika and the Konvent Cirk project present the fourth edition of our experimental festival Kontrast that will bring also this year more than 30 artistic proposals from April 12 to 21 at the Konvent, in the Side Kunst Cirque tent at Cal Rosal, in Gironella (as a novelty this year), and all around.

The phenomenon of contemporary circus brings together artists who draw a large kaleidoscope of ways, determining internal currents as in a real movement, with unmistakable stylistic characteristics and a unique vitality in the world of molecular biology.

Kontrast, taken from the Italian contrasto "contrast", from Latin contra "against" and stare "to stay", that is, "to stay against", is a constant concept that accompanies the two realities (one that carries an independent theater on tour through Europe, the Side Kunst-Cirque circus tent and the other that promotes arts in a former textile colony recovered for more than 20 years.

The organizing collective continues with the tenacity to follow the path of the unusual and experimentation, proposing special shows, musical events, continental breakfasts, and plastic art exhibitions in a festive atmosphere that simply wants to fight against spring boredom and the overlooked objectives of the common inner winter.

Artists from all over the world arrive in Cal Rosal from their countries, with their languages, cultures, and art, making Kontrast an international festival. It is evident, however, that you have not yet found the nationality of the companies within the Kontrast program. Passports are not an issue for our circus and never will be. You can discover the path of each artist by meeting them after their show and sharing moments offstage: artists and audience exchange opinions, stories, ideas. The current model of enjoyment on screens finds the limits of absurdity in the case of the circus. Kontrast is a festival where feats can be touched with hands.

Kontrast is an aquarium where strange, mysterious, dangerous... mainly inconceivable fish swim. You can observe them in their sinuous and crazy movements, but there is no glass to protect yourself: you will have to dive together with the artists into the splendid abysses of Kontrast.

Beyond all current madness, once again art, once again the circus.
